You could be limiting yourself without knowing it, simply because of the way your mindset has been programmed. The good news is that you can reprogram your mindset for success. You can remove limitations in your life by first removing any limitations, or strongholds, set up in your mind. It’s no wonder that the Bible tells us to renew our minds before we can really walk in God’s will for our lives.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. – Romans 12:2 NIV

The more closely your thinking is aligned with God’s thinking and your spirit with His Spirit, then the more He can carry out His purpose in and through you.

Limitation of lack

A lack mentality leads to thoughts of not being good enough or not having enough. A lack mentality will cause you to settle for less than God’s best for you in life. If this sounds like you then the only thing you lack is knowledge.

The best way to deal with this kind of limiting mindset is to find out what God has given you by checking your manual for living – aka “the Bible”. Maybe it’s time to stop relying on what your own strength can do and start believing in what God has done and can do through you.

Limitation of identity

A poor identity mindset can definitely hold you back in life. God gets no glory from you thinking less of yourself than who He’s made you. Do you really know who you are in Christ? Have you gone past knowing who you are to actually being who you were created to be?
